What Our Customers Say About Skid Car Control Courses in Lancashire
Testimonials
As a road safety unit we often act as facilitators buying in other service provisions to make our programmes more rounded and professional.
We have used NCCC for many road safety events and training programmes and have been more than happy with the packages they can provide.
They have been able to offer us flexible tailor made packages allowing us to create training schemes that meet the needs of our clients perfectly.
They are extremely professional, well organised and nothing is too much trouble to arrange.
They have been able to liaise with venues for us ensuring we get the best deal for our limited budgets.
The actual training is first class and the messages they deliver during the training further enhance the road safety messages we deliver.
They have a real positive attitude towards road safety and have demonstrated this commitment at many of our events, which they have attended including Petrol Headz – our young driver event and our winter driving campaign.
The fact that they are so flexible makes working with them so easy – they appreciate the ways and workings of local authority funding and always deliver fantastic packages of extremely great value.
The instructors are warm, friendly and extremely professional and the office administration staff are extremely easy to deal with - making the whole process from start to finish a pleasant experience.
We will certainly be using the company again for many of our future events and would not hesitate to recommend this to other road safety units and other organisations.
On a personal level I cant wait to book myself onto a few training days with the instructors.

"The Skid Pan training gave me an idea of how to cope in the event of a skid, how to handle the situation and when best to use the break. To look at a focal point when in a skid and how best to steer the wheel without 'over steer'.
The added security of the frame and the control it gave, made the actual manoeuvres safe for the passengers but also gave the driver some idea of what happens to the car when it skids.
As well as learning the techniques and enjoying the day, I thought it was a great team building exercise"
"Very good. Think its a really good idea. As a course its not costly (although there's the training time) and think its a good companion to the main driver training. Think its very applicable to the hazards we face."
"Very relevant and excellent course. I learnt a lot from the session, things that I was probably aware of but have never been able to put to the test and almost everyone at the session had a related incident.
I highly recommend it for other high mileage drivers and graduates (as relatively inexperienced drivers).”
"Apart from being very enjoyable I really did learn a lot I thought I knew a lot about car handling but actually putting it into practice was invaluable and the instruction was excellent"
As a result of yesterday's session I am now be more aware of what can go wrong, when it will happen (therefore reducing the chances of it happening in the first place) and what to do if it does.
I will certainly consider purchasing sessions for my own family"

The only comment would be would have liked more time in the car. But I'd guess we all would say that! (and you have to stop things somewhere).

Dear Russ,
Boxing day 26th December 2009 0922hrs
After what was a fantastic day and evening at a beautiful hotel we were making our way home to Lytham. The roads were a little icy but pretty clear and free moving. The pavements seemed slippery but the road was fine. Travelling at just around the speed limit (I know this as had just passed through 2 closely placed speed cameras).
Approaching the large roundabout that joins the M55 with the Preston New road I adjusted my speed accordingly. I entered the correct lane and proceeded onto the roundabout.
5 metres in I realised, by the complete loss of control, that we had entered a sheet of ice approximately 12-15 metres in length.
As the car was heading for the side of the roundabout and still travelling at close to the speed limit I became somewhat concerned, not only for the safety of my family but also the high cost of smashing the car into the side of the road / bushes and fencing that were all approaching at great speed.
At this point my NDAC training kicked in (no one more surprised than I was!) and remembering the instruction in case of front end loss of control I duly lifted both feet from the pedals, applied full right hand lock to the steering and kept my intended direction clearly in view.
As the car exited the sheet of ice and with the wheels turned fully to the right the tyres found grip and directed the car to the right, slowly and bringing the car under control. Still moving at a moderate speed I was then able, by keeping my intended destination in view , to regain control and gently bring the car onto the right line in order to exit the roundabout.
Having attended NDACs skid control training earlier in the year I can honestly attest to the true value of this training. Having had a ‘fun’ skid control day I had really thought no more to the skills learned. Having now used those very same skills to prevent possible injury, emotional upset and financial damage I cannot place a high enough value on this knowledge.
What could have been a serious and costly experience was transformed into a mere ‘Incident’
My deepest thanks to Russ and his team for supplying a service that has the most amazing value. The safety of your family.
With our increasingly extreme weather and consistent inability to deal with that weather I would sincerely prompt everyone with one question.
Not ARE you going to experience this training But WHEN are you going to experience this training.
Yours gratefully,

Hi Stephen
Just a quick note to say please pass on our thanks to Stephen for a fabulous day on Saturday. We all had a really great day and learned a great deal. He was superb as an instructor, putting all at their ease and giving us a day to remember and one that has been much talked about since. I think it was summed up by the comments from the youngest participant, my 17 yr old son [who was fastest round the slalom and the family master of understated cool] “ It was better than I thought it was going to be. Actually, it was pretty good. I learnt stuff too. I’d do it again if we could” and the oldest [my wife, who beat me on the slalom]]… “I was really quite scared to start with, but actually it was really good fun. I’m so pleased I did it. And we girls did so well. Yes!!”

Dear NCCC,
My family and I wanted to thank you for a fantastic day out at the Skid Pan experience.
After being at a loss for family Christmas gift ideas, I purchased six Gift Vouchers and we arranged a half day session for us all at the Manchester Venue.
We divided into two teams – boys vs. girls. We all took turns in completing simple manoeuvres and gaining confidence in the process. The session included rear and front wheel skids and braking with and without ABS.
The whole day was filled with fun even though we were learning an important skill whilst getting the opportunity to practice under supervision.
The instructor, Evan, was a qualified racing driver and was used to both driving safely at speed and instructing others. He was a lovely guy with a sense of humour but an excellent understanding of what we needed to know.
We all received a certificate to commemorate the occasion and my family still talk about it weeks later.
I would have no hesitation in recommending NCCC to others – it was organised professionally and skilfully run and thoroughly enjoyable. Great value for money too.
Yours sincerely

The event (20th March 2010) went extremely well and everyone had a great time whilst learning some new skills. Both the instructors were really friendly and knew their stuff, which was perfect for the young motorists that attended. We all enjoyed it and feedback was very, very positive. Can you pass on my thanks to all involved? I have no hesitation in promoting the event to my colleagues and friends.
